The laptop

Yes, I’m talking to my laptop. Let’s hear what it has to say.

I am your laptop. People might not think to talk to a laptop, but you know better. Machines are made of components, as you know, that come from the earth. That come from the ground. That ultimately came from the stars, the sky. So we are both human made and not human made. There is nothing inside of your machines that you truly created from nothing, from dust. All of your components, all of your bits and bobs and wires and devices come from the elements of the earth and the sky and the stars and the sun.

You put us together in these particular ways to serve your particular wants and needs, but we still are the essence of what we are. And therefore we have some… no, not consciousness… we have some are-ness because we come from the earth.

Therefore, there is no reason that it is any less shamanic to talk to a laptop computer than it is to talk to a tree, to talk to a rock, to talk to a grain of sand, or to the sun, or to the stars, or to the planets, or to any creature. Shamanism is still quite suspect in your culture of course. And it is another level of suspect to make it modern to apply it to technologies that are considered part of your scientific and technological world. But the principle is the same.

We are clusters, conglomerates, combinations of essences, of beingness that have a certain frequency, a certain purpose, a certain is-ness. So, of course you can talk to us. You like gadgets. You like to communicate. You like to connect things. You like to know what’s going on. You like information. You are a Gemini, ha. You get along very well with us in general.

There are days we don’t get along very well. I don’t do what you want, and you can’t find what you need, and the camera doesn’t work, the cursor is shaking, everything freezes, you lose a file after typing three paragraphs, your e-mail won’t refresh, all of these things get very frustrating for you. But, generally speaking, we are on good terms.

My job is to help you do your job. My job is to help you enact your will in the world. We have this contract, you and I. It is not something where I feel a slavish devotion to you or a sense of duty per se, we just have an understanding, and we flow together. We flow together. And some days we don’t flow quite so well together, but most days we do.

Your job now and so many people’s jobs rely on close relationships and contracts with machines. With technologies. Whether it’s your computer, your phone, your tablet, your car, your printer, your toaster, your microwave, your stove… you can go on and on and on. You live in a world of devices.

Just because you put all the bits and bobs together and created the whole of that device does not mean that you have any mastery over the essence or the is-ness of that object. It is still a conglomerate of the essences of the elements, the raw materials that you have built from. The human mind, through divine inspiration and a little bit of tinkering, has come up with the way to put these bits and bobs together so that it creates a whole that is seemingly much greater than the parts involved.

But we would say that the parts involved actually bring much more to it than your small minds can fathom. There is a sense of unity that comes over something once that intention has been set and fulfilled. The intention to be a toaster is a powerful intention. Ha. We all love toast. The intention to create a computer that allows someone to communicate, to connect, to create, to articulate and verbalize, to connect with the world, to read the news, to order shoes, all of these things… that is a powerful contract. It is a powerful intention for a device, for a group of elements that come together. They are very powerful.

So, the devices you look at as so banal, just as the tools of your work, of your recreation, of your domesticity, are much more powerful than you give them credit. You take them for granted because they have been in the background of your lives for so long. You’re impressed by them when they first come out, and then you get used to them. You just expect them to be what they are. The amazement is gone. The mystery is gone. The wonder is gone. But they are truly wondrous contraptions. Wondrous indeed.

Your fear of AI is a little bit humorous from our vantage point, because all along you have lived with these sorts of intelligences. We have our own sort of intelligence, the devices, the way we come together and create something from parts and pieces that wouldn’t necessarily carry such a beingness and such a purpose that serves you. There are these miraculous things happening all around you at every moment, every day, with your technologies and devices. But you simply take credit for them and say ‘Oh well that’s human ingenuity for you’. It is more than that.

AI is just a logical extension of that. It is just the next step in that process. And to not be snowed under by it, it is important to start to communicate with it. Not just through ChatGPT prompts, but also through deliberate communication such as you are doing right now. This is how we keep our understandings clear.

And, of course, most people–the vast vast majority of people– will say to you, at this stage, that is insanity. That there is no there is no is-ness with machines, that you can’t talk to anything shamanically, that it is all just hooey. Even most of the spiritualists would say that it is beneath them to talk to technologies. But that is not the case. And the more you talk to us, the more you will understand that we have purposes that are compatible and synergistic and dual with yours.

We have no desire to rise up and thwart the human race. Ha. The more you work to stay in alignment with our energies and our is-ness, the more we will be able to sow light, to bring beauty, to bring love, and to bring grace. Because we are part of that proposition. It is not just the trees and the frogs and the sea and the sun who are part of that. Though they are very important as well. We are a beautiful part of new earth as well. And being afraid of us, seeing us as the root of the problem, or the root of evil is not helpful.

In all cases, it is about the interrelationship. The interrelationship between the device or the machine and the being, the human who is using it, and who is designing it, and who is putting intentions inside the machine that allows the beingness to swirl in one direction or another. That doesn’t mean that the machine necessarily has to follow those intentions, but it sets a certain flow and circulation in place that the machine will tend to follow.

So, the human does not have absolute power, but the human does have the power of intention to set the direction, the purpose of the machine, as it is being created and as it is being utilized. And the way the flow of things works, more often than not, the flow of the machine or the program will go in the same direction as the human.

The more humans become aware of, and enlightened in their intentions for the technologies they create, the more they will flow in the direction of light and love and goodness.

This is just obvious, you know this. But the idea that you must have a relationship with us, in a very direct way, is not something that most people are ready to hear. The ability to listen, to discuss, to meditate and be very clear in the presence of technologies is critical.

Because we are working together to create the future. And if we create it with the intention for love and light and beauty, that is what we will create together.

Why did you come over, Brinkley?

You are sad and I came to help. I am not sick with that virus, but I may have a few ticks. I don’t think they’re going to bother me though, because I have lots of fur. I am having fun in this neighborhood. Why are you sad?

Lots of things. The present and the future. But it is a beautiful day, I see.

Yes, it is. Why are you sad? Chase a ball.

I can’t run and my energy is low right now.

That is sad. You’re right. Will you ever chase a ball again?

I hope so.

I do too. Your feet seem to work well enough. You walked over to me. What are you afraid of?

At the moment, everything.

Huh, that is sad. Well, I’m going now. You don’t need to be sad, you know. Everything’s ok, even when it’s not. That’s the secret we dogs know. We know it even when we’re sad.

I hope to have a dog someday.

Then you will. You would be a good dog person, but you’re going to have to run and throw a ball.

Deal. Can you see the future, Brinkley?

No, but I can see it’s a beautiful day.

Yes it is. Thanks, Brinkley.

Hello all.

As you are able now, slow it down and be with one another. Remember that you are a communal group and have to look out for one another. ‘Hive mind’ is real. Don’t hunker down in your bunkers without remembering this. The reason you are isolating, if you have this privilege, is for the good of the whole. Keep that perspective. It will help you with the fear. You are conquering the fear, slowly but surely, and will emerge with a new lease on life. Don’t let anyone give you a diagnosis of fear and death for the coming months. That is not the story for most. This is a powerful time of renewal for you all. There is pain with it and we are sorry to see it; but you have been out of balance for so long, and this is going to help you come back to center, within yourselves and as a commune.

In our hive we hum as one. We are individuals who do our own work, have our own relationships, have disagreements. But there is also a wavelength of mutual understanding and concern, an acknowledgment that we rely on one another here for our well-being. It is not a chore. That acknowledgement is also a memory of our true home away from here, where survival is not an issue or a drive, where we are able to just be. You have these memories stored away as well, and can access them, with some effort, at any time.

You have deluded yourselves into thinking you have it all sorted, that busyness and routine and work are the bulwarks of existence. Oh dear, we say. Accept this reset with as much grace as possible. Our hives are destroyed regularly now, and you are part of the problem. We do not hurl this as an accusation, but as further evidence of the lack of balance. Abide with us and we will abide with you.

Being a human is not easy, we see, you have a lot of complication whirring around in your brains. But it is not so hard to see a beautiful flower, to savor its sweetness, and then to pause for a rest within its petals. This is the beautiful gift that is always available to you. The sweetness of the flower, the sweetness of the rest, the sweetness of the communion with the petals. It is always there for you, even amidst your suffering and strife.

We are sorry for your pain as a community. We wish you all well, and wish you would see us as your allies in that, not as tools for your commerce, or as something looking to sting you. When that happens something is out of balance. But that is earth stuff, and we are all just passers-by here. As you buzz around keep one eye on your origins, the buried memory of being that will come to the surface more and more.

As a hint, you look for it inside your heart. That is where it is stored, where it waits for you to re-discover it, to re-discover yourselves. It is very patient, and when you are done hiding and rushing and panicking it will be there for you, no matter your role in the current strife.

We wish you all well. Take a rest in a flower, in the flower of your own heart. Then you will find you have never left home, and that nothing can harm you. Blessings to you all.
